I hope you all had a lovely Christmas time and enjoyed spending the day as you wished. It’s a lovely time of year to catch up with friends and family.
As we head into the last few days of 2025 it gives us time to reflect on the year that has been; what we have or haven’t achieved from our to do lists, what we have enjoyed or not and what we would like to do more of and perhaps less of.
Reflection is key to move forward. Take a look at what has been and what you wish to take with you to the next chapter and what you wish to leave behind.
As we head into 2026 there are many “trends” to look forward to or be a part of if you wish. It could be the latest health and fitness trends, wellbeing trends, clothes, tech, cars etc. We are never short of a trend to get on board with.
Sometimes it is difficult to know where to start. Here are some of the trends I found which are supposedly the ones to look out for next year:
- Time off from tech – we have heard this so often, stop looking at our phones or screens at least an hour before bed. Too much blue light is bad for your sleep rhythm etc. So what are we going to do about it? By taking time away from our devices it can help to lower our stress levels and bring us back to the present. A digital detox as it is more commonly known can be something you can easily implement. Set up screen free zones in your house or have a few hours each evening screen free. Better still indulge yourself in a screen free retreat or do it yourself and spend a full weekend without a screen insight and see how you feel after it.
- Mental health days – Lots of workplaces are recognising the need for people to take time off to help their mental health. Some companies are giving employees extra days to use specifically to help people relax, recharge and take care of themselves. For most, I would say keep some of your holidays back to use should you need them for when you feel overwhelmed or stressed. Many people will need to give plenty notice for holidays, but knowing you have a day booked in, can really help. Perhaps you book a day off a few times a year so you know you don’t have too long to go before you get a break for just you.
- Celebrate small wins – great for boosting your motivation and self esteem as well as helping to have a positive mindset. These can be anything from losing weight, reading a chapter of the book you’ve wanted to read for months. Setting goals for the year ahead can be daunting especially if it will be a challenge. Chunking it down into manageable bites and celebrating each one is the way to do it. You might prefer to track your progress in a journal or notebook or use an app. There are many goal or habit trackers out there you can use.
- Collective wellness – being part of a community and a caring, sharing space. Whilst joining a workout class is the norm for many, this is about being in a space which is supportive and part of a group whatever your stage of life. It doesn’t just need to be a fitness class, it could be a cooking class, a retreat, walking group, a support group, it’s all about being together and being a community. You are there for a collective reason, not just to do a class and leave, but to share experiences and support each other.
- Your wellness – personalised wellness just for you. With so much tech out there for you to use to help you get the best from yourself and fitness/wellness goals. Using this and AI are there to help track your fitness and stress levels as well as working out what would best suit your lifestyle. So use it and see what it can do for you and where it can take you in 2026. if you are unsure of any new fitness regime, then be sure to speak with experts, such as your GP or Personal Trainer at the gym.
There are a lot of wellness trends now and for the year to come. You might find some suitable or interesting that you want to get on board with and equally there are ones you’d rather just ignore. Thats great. This is all about you and your wellness so find what is right for you and go forth and enjoy 2026. Make it the year you looked after you!
Thank you for reading. Have a wonderful time continuing the festivities and all the best for 2026.
Love Emma xx
