The A – Z of Positivity – C

Welcome to the next instalment of my monthly series The A – Z of Positivity. Today we are looking at the letter C.

We could all do with being more positive throughout our day and life. It is too easy to go into a negativity spiral dwelling on all the things going wrong in our day to day lives. There are some people who love nothing more than being in the pessimistic space and will quite happily take you with them, leaving you feeling unhappy, dwelling on the negatives and feeling like life is gloomy. None of us want to be in that space (well, perhaps some do), so let’s continue our journey today and see where positivity can take us.

C

Communicate – Positive communication is powerful. The way we speak, our tone, our choice of words, our intention, can completely shift the energy of a conversation. Whether you’re talking to a colleague, a friend, a partner, or the person serving your lunch, aim for kindness. A kind, respectful tone doesn’t just uplift others, it reinforces your own positive mindset.

Creative – being creative can be anything from colouring in a book or creating an art masterpiece and everything in between. It isn’t just limited to those known as artists by profession. If being creative is your thing, enjoy doing the activities that brings positivity and light to your life.

Chocolate – Sometimes positivity is in the guise of a chocolate bar. It can help brighten your day as well as your mood. Enjoy occasionally but do it guilt free.

Capable – You are an amazing person and can do so much. You are very capable so stop doubting yourself. Write down five things you have achieved in your life you never thought possible. You are likely challenged each and every day in your work or home life, but your capabilities reach far beyond what you think. Be positive in your achievements and celebrate your capabilities.

Courageous – We are all courageous in many different ways. It doesn’t have to be dramatic or something life changing. It could be having a difficult conversation or even getting out of bed when you are having a tough day. Make sure you pat yourself on the back when you do these things, it is hugely positive. It can be a real challenge to do some activities or make life decisions and we don’t often spend much time reflecting on or even acknowledging what it took for us to do it. Be proud and positive of how courageous you have been.

Celebrate – We usually only celebrate the big milestones such as birthdays, weddings, births, and anniversaries, and forget about the small wins. This could be something as simple as completing a project, finally painting a wall in the house or putting the shelf up that you have been meaning to do for a year. It doesn’t have to be a big celebration. Why not start a book of celebrations, each day, make a note of all the small things you achieve and celebrate, then after a year, you will have a wonderful reminder of all you have achieved.

Curiosity – Being curious and finding out more about anything is a positive. Why? Because asking questions, or exploring new things and learning something new allows your world to expand. As the saying goes ‘knowledge is power’. It keeps your world filled with growth and possibility. Never stop being curious as you never know where it will take you and it keeps life interesting.

Collaboration – why work on your own when you can collaborate? Working with others can spark creativity, broaden your perspective, and make tasks feel lighter. Collaboration reminds us that we don’t have to do everything alone. When the opportunity arises, join forces, share ideas, and enjoy working with others and bringing your ideas to fruition.

Compliment – A simple compliment can transform someone’s day. It costs nothing, takes seconds, and creates a ripple of positivity. Whether it’s acknowledging someone’s effort, style, kindness, or smile, offering a genuine compliment lifts both peoples mood and energy.

There are many positives woven into our everyday lives, and the letter C gives us a whole collection of them. By noticing and celebrating these small but meaningful habits, you can Change your mindset, brighten your outlook, and bring more positivity into your world.

Thank you for reading.

Have a positive week and look after you.

Love Emma xx
