The A – Z of Positivity – H

Welcome to the next instalment of my monthly series The A – Z of Positivity. Today we are looking at the letter H. Let’s take a look to see where positivity can take us.

H

Happy – When we are happy, everything in our world feels great. We feel light and comfortable. Things are going our way. But more often than not, we don’t acknowledge our happiness, we just get on with life. Happiness doesn’t always have to be about the big moments, those that sparkle and shine. Instead it can be the moments like having a cup of hot chocolate and having a quiet moment, speaking with your best friend, watching a bird in the garden, going for a walk in the sunshine and feeling glad to be where we are in that moment. What makes you happy in your life today? What makes you happy day to day? Think of the small everyday things and grow your happiness.

Healing – Whether the healing you need is mental, emotional or physical, healing is different for everyone. It is not a straight line, it is not instant and most importantly you cannot compare your healing to anyone else. It takes time and you need to be kind to yourself as your body and mind slowly return or reset. Healing can be different for all, for some it can be letting go, for others it is taking the time needed to rest and recuperate. Celebrate the progress you make, even if no one else sees it. Every small step will take you further on your healing journey. All healing is positive, no matter how big or small.

Helpful – Everyone is helpful in their own way. It might be as simple as holding a door open for someone, reaching for a product on the top shelf in the supermarket for a shorter shopper or offering a lift to a friend. These are all acts of positivity. Whilst you are helping others, you will feel good too. You are spreading positivity as you go. Don’t forget to be helpful to yourself such as setting boundaries, asking for support when you need it and giving yourself time to do the things you want to do is just as important

Hardworking – Hard work isn’t just about productivity and achieving goals. It is about commitment and showing up even when things feel tough. The effort you make, no matter how small, says a lot about you as person and your personal strength. We all have to work hard in all areas of our life from our family, friends to our careers and our own wellbeing. The effort you put in to these areas will shine through with positivity.

Harmony – This is oozing in positivity. When our lives are harmonious we are happy and all is well. It is that beautiful balance where life feels aligned, everything from our relationships, careers, environment, our actions and thoughts. We feel steady, calm, and connected, we can breathe out and know all is well in our world. Harmony looks different for everyone and only you can truly know what it looks and feels like for you. When our life is harmonious it is filled with positivity. If you are not feeling it at the moment, what will help you to create harmony? Could it be choosing peace over conflict, or listening to what your mind and body truly need or giving yourself space and calm away from the crazy busy day to day.

Hilarity – Laughter is the best form of positivity. It lifts your mood, eases tension, and is a wonderful reminder not to take life too seriously. Whether it’s a silly moment, a funny story, or a shared giggle with friends, hilarity brings lightness to even the heaviest days. Seek out these laughter moments as they are good for the soul.

As you can see from the above there are many positives woven into our everyday lives. Being positive isn’t about being sickly annoying and wearing rose tinted glasses and always being cheery. It is about noticing and working with what you have and feel, to give you a better mindset, brighten your outlook, and bring more positivity into your world. Join me next month when we look at the letter I in my continuation of the A – Z of Positivity series.

Have a lovely week, look after you and see what positivity you can bring into your life this week.

Love Emma xx
